Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Level II.

Level II suits practitioners with basic striking foundation seeking to advance. Beginners with instructor approval can join; most participants have completed Level I or equivalent and want more sparring, clinch training, and advanced combinations.

Sessions blend warm-ups, technical drills, partner pad work, clinch practice, and controlled sparring. Coaches break down sequences, offer corrections, and scale intensity so each student can safely practice and integrate new skills in live scenarios.

You don't need extensive experience, but basic striking fundamentals and fitness help. Instructors assess newcomers and may recommend Level I prep or modified drills so beginners can participate safely while building toward full Level II sparring.

Sparring is introduced progressively: light technical rounds, positional drills, then coached controlled sparring with protective equipment. Intensity and contact increase only as skill, timing, and safety awareness are demonstrated by each student.

Bring hand wraps, 16oz gloves if you own them, mouthguard, groin/ chest protection, and shin guards for clinch work. The gym provides spare gloves and headgear, but personal gear ensures proper fit and hygiene.

Progress varies with attendance, focus, and skill retention. With regular training and coach feedback, expect measurable improvements in technique and sparring within 8–16 weeks; formal promotion to Level III follows demonstrated competence and readiness.
